“Some say politics is just a show, but that’s not me. It’s tough to see folks in Limerick struggling with the basics—affordable homes, reliable healthcare, and steady jobs—while it feels like those at the top are out of touch with what we go through every day. Too often, our needs get ignored, and the resources we do have are not managed the way they should be. And it’s us, the people of Limerick, who pay the price.
That’s why I’ve decided it’s time to step up—not just to talk, but to get things done. I’m running for mayor because I believe in our city, in our people, in Limerick. We’ve all seen enough of what doesn’t work – now it’s time to show what does.
It would be an immense honor to represent you and serve our city—a city with so much heart and potential. Together, we can and we will do better.”
-Frankie Daly, General Election Candidate

Youth and Sports
I’ve always believed sports and education can really turn lives around, especially for our kids. Being involved in local clubs, I’ve seen how they can keep young people out of trouble, giving them a chance to grow up in a positive and supportive environment.
Key Achievements Include:
Northside Playing Pitch: Negotiated a 22-year lease, ensuring long-term access for community sports.
St. Francis Boxing Club: Doubled the club’s capacity, a vital community asset fostering discipline and fitness.
St. Patrick’s GAA Club, Rhebogue: Secured funding for state-of-the-art changing rooms, enhancing our sports infrastructure.
Corbally Community Park & Caherdavin Playground: Successfully secured half a million in funding, plus additional land for development, boosting local recreation spaces significantly.
Leadership Beyond the Council
My job isn’t just about sitting through council meetings. As Chairperson of the Roads & Transport SPC, I’ve been pushing hard for the Limerick Northern Distributor Road. We’re really working to boost our infrastructure and make sure we’re better connected.
And over at the Southern Regional Assembly, I’ve been working hard to help shape policies that lay down a solid foundation for our future. We’re making sure that our economic and spatial planning really takes into account what our community needs, not just now but for the generations that follow.
Infrastructure and Safety
School Safety Measures: Implemented vital safety upgrades around local schools, including in Caherdavin, ensuring that our children’s safety is never compromised.
Mill Road Safety: Injected €4.8 million invested into road safety improvements, significantly reducing risk for both drivers and pedestrians.
Green Initiatives: Spearheaded the Shannon Fields and Canal Bank Greenway projects, promoting environmental sustainability and community health.
Supporting Local Sports
Thomond RFC Expansion: Facilitated the expansion of Thomond RFC into Moyross, including new playing pitches and club facilities, set for approval soon.
Treaty United: Played a pivotal role in establishing a permanent home for Limerick Senior Soccer, aligning with new strategic leadership.
International Engagement
Coordinated international exposure for local teams, including Treaty United’s and Pike Rovers’ trips to prestigious academies in the UK, broadening our athletes’ horizons and competitive experiences.
My Goal
Through all these initiatives, my goal has been clear: listen to you, cut through the bureaucracy, and get things done. My track record isn’t just about projects completed; it’s about a continuous commitment to improving our community’s quality of life.
